This is roughly how the game works:
- Select one country per match.
- If your country wins, you earn 3 points. A draw earns 1 point.
- The goal difference of your country (+ or -) is added to your total goal difference.
- Each country can be chosen a maximum of four times during the tournament.
- You can use a maximum of two jokers during the tournament.
- 1 joker in the group stage
- 1 joker in the knockout stage
- In the semi-finals, your points are automatically doubled:
- Win = 6 points
- With joker = 12 points
- In the final, your points are automatically tripled:

An Example
Jack chooses Mexico in Match 1. Mexico plays South Africa and wins 7-1. Jack receives 3 points for the win, 7 goals for, and 1 goal against.
Jill chooses South Africa in Match 1. South Africa plays Mexico and the match ends 1-7. Jill receives 0 points for the loss, 1 goal for, and 7 goals against. In the standings, it looks like this:
| Name | Pts | Goals For | Goals Against | Balance |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Jack | 3 | 7 | 1 | +6 |
| Jill | 0 | 1 | 7 | -6 |
In Match 2, Jack chooses Qatar. Qatar plays Switzerland and loses 1-4. Jack receives 0 points for the loss, 1 goal for, and 4 goals against.
Jill also chooses Qatar in Match 2. Qatar plays Switzerland and loses 1-4. Jill receives 0 points for the loss, 1 goal for, and 4 goals against. In the standings, it looks like this:
| Name | Pts | Goals For | Goals Against | Balance |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Jack | 3 | 8 | 5 | +3 |
| Jill | 0 | 2 | 11 | -9 |
Suppose Jack had used a joker in Match 1. Then his result in Match 1 would have been doubled: 6 points, 14 goals for, and 2 goals against.
Good tactics
We do not know what a good tactic is. It comes down to knowledge, skill, insight, and pure luck.
There are 104 matches and 48 countries. You can choose each country a maximum of 4 times. Please note: it can be over after the group stage - or after any match in the knockout stage - because there can only be one winner.
Regarding the use of jokers, we also do not know what a good tactic is. However, it seems better to use a joker for a match where you feel fairly certain that your chosen country will win.
But, in the end, everything always turns out differently than planned beforehand.
